Kayla Itsines Bikini Body Guide Week review


So after completing a month of Kayla's Bikini body guide, last week marked the start of a new month - meaning harder and more intensive workouts! The reps increase and so does the difficulty. It's starting to become a real challenge and shows just how much stronger I am becoming.

Onto the run down of week 5!

Monday Legs and cardio

I found this workout hard, burpees were hard enough at 10 but having to do 15 is even worse! They really tire me out big time and I can't continually do them, especially not in the second circuit! 426 calories burnt on Monday's workout.

Tuesday LISS

Tuesday was a busy week for me, I had a meeting in London where I ended up walking about 3 miles around the city. To be extra good I then to top it off I did a LISS session in the evening, burning an extra 253 calories! Good day!

Wednesday rest day

I ended up having an unintentional rest day on Wednesday. I felt so drained and had back ache, think due to hormones but I decided to have a rest day as I didn't want to injure it and mess up the remaining weeks exercises.

Thursday Arms and Abs + LISS

On Thursday I finished work early so managed to fit Wednesday's arms and abs workout in. Result! Raised leg triceps dips are ridiculously hard and decline push ups I find near impossible! I will be able to do them properly one day! I don't know how many calories I burnt for this as I'd left my heart rate monitor at the boyfriend's. I also fitted in an evening LISS cardio workout burning 350 calories!

Friday LISS

Friday was just an evening walk as after a week of working I like a more chilled Friday, LISS used up 350 calories

Saturday ABS and cardio + LISS

Saturday was a big LISS day, went for a long 55 min walk and burnt 427 calories. Followed by Abs and Cardio work out in the afternoon, found it really hard and ended up taking me an hour to complete, 335 calories burnt.

Sunday LISS

My morning LISS was cut short on Sunday due to torrential rain! 24 minutes instead of 35 and only 213 calories, but it's better than nothing!

BUT... look at the change in my stomach in a week! So impressed! It's so important to take progress pictures as they provide me with the biggest motivation of all. I'd advise not to start compare until after a month though so you can see a real change.

Overall I enjoyed this week, it's harder for me to fit in all the LISS workouts as I don't get time to do either resistance or LISS in the morning before work, so I have to do it in the evenings and the weekends. Which in turn means I don't get many rest days but luckily LISS isn't too strenuous. Bring on week 6...

Kayla's guide is available here and works out at around £40, I know its expensive but if you stick to it you will get the results. Especially if you don't really have a clue where to start with home workouts.

  3. Since spot decrease in any one issue zone does not work, the best route is to perform cardio exercise activities to enable you to consume fat from all parts of your body similarly or at break even with rates. BBG
